Dr. Sloan McDonald
Sloan M. McDonald, DDS has established herself as a distinguished leader in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, having practiced in this area of specialty for over 30 years. Her devotion to continuing education and her passion for quality patient care has placed her at the forefront of her profession. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Dr. McDonald began her career in dentistry as a registered dental hygienist and worked in general and periodontal practices in Portland, Oregon for 4 years. In 1982, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and completed her internship and residency training at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans.
Dr. McDonald is one of the first female oral-maxillofacial surgeons in the United States. In 1990, the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons honored Dr. McDonald by awarding her the prestigious title of Diplomat. In 1992, she was recognized and invited to become a Fellow in the International College of Dentists, and in 1997, Dr. McDonald was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Her private practice is in Antioch, California, and she is on the staff of Sutter Delta Medical Center, John Muir Medical Center, Mt. Diablo Medical Center, and Brentwood Surgery Center.
In her free time, Dr. McDonald enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her family. She especially enjoys her golden retriever, Timmy.
